Description
Battery Boost is a technical training program preparing participants for roles in battery manufacturing, specifically as Product and Process Technicians at NextStar Energy's $5 billion battery plant in Windsor-Essex.
From February 2025 to March 2026, the program targets laid-off workers and career changers seeking opportunities in the battery manufacturing industry, including electric vehicle and energy storage applications.
Administered by Invest WindsorEssex with delivery support from NextStar Energy, Battery Boost is funded by Upskill Canada ($3.8M+) and powered by Palette Skills with Government of Canada support.
