Bringing Enterprise XR to Igloo Shared Immersive Spaces
Our goal at Virtualware has always been to make immersive technologies easier to deploy, manage, and scale across organizations.
That’s why we’re pleased to announce that we are launching the VIROO Igloo Player as the next step in that goal.
VIROO can now run directly within Igloo immersive installations, extending the platform into shared 360-degree spaces and enabling new forms of collaborative XR experiences.
The integration transforms an Igloo installation from a standalone visualization room into a connected endpoint within the VIROO ecosystem, combining immersive projection environments with enterprise-grade content management, collaboration, and user administration capabilities.
What Is Igloo?
Igloo creates shared immersive environments through room-scale projection systems, including domes, cylinders, CAVEs, and custom immersive spaces. These environments allow multiple participants to experience and interact with digital content together in the same physical location.
Unlike traditional XR setups that rely on individual headsets, Igloo focuses on group engagement, enabling teams to visualize, discuss, and explore content collectively through synchronized projection technologies.
Enterprise XR Integration for Igloo Immersive Spaces
The integration of Igloo into VIROO demonstrates how scalability and adaptability are becoming essential requirements for enterprise XR. Organizations increasingly need solutions that work across multiple devices, locations, and environments without requiring separate deployments for each use case.
As a device-agnostic enterprise XR platform, VIROO helps organizations overcome hardware fragmentation by allowing immersive content to be deployed across a broad ecosystem that includes XR headsets, desktops, CAVEs, VIROO Rooms, and now Igloo immersive spaces.
The VIROO Igloo Player delivers this capability through a dedicated integration that combines Igloo’s visualization infrastructure with VIROO’s enterprise services layer, including governance, deployment, networking, collaboration, and content management.
Shared Collaboration Without Boundaries
Teams inside an Igloo environment can explore 3D content at full scale while remote participants join the same session from VR headsets or desktop devices. This creates a unified collaborative experience regardless of where participants are located or how they connect.
One Ecosystem, Multiple Deployment Options
A key strength of the VIROO platform is its ability to support multiple deployment targets from a single ecosystem. Organizations can manage users, applications, content, and collaborative sessions centrally while extending the same experience across different immersive infrastructures.
Better Collaboration for Complex Projects
The combination of VIROO and Igloo supports a wide range of enterprise use cases, including:
– Design reviews
– Engineering collaboration
– Training and simulation
– Product visualization
– Remote teamwork
By enabling teams to work around the same digital asset within a shared immersive environment, organizations can improve understanding, accelerate decision-making, and enhance stakeholder engagement.
Expanding the Future of Enterprise XR
This collaboration between Virtualware and Igloo continues to expand the ways organizations can access, share, and scale immersive experiences. By connecting projection-based immersive spaces with a broader enterprise XR ecosystem, companies gain greater flexibility in how they deploy and consume immersive content.
The result is a more connected approach to XR, where teams can collaborate, learn, and innovate across devices, locations, and environments through a single platform.
