Robotekin Topaketa at Virtualware: AI, Robotics and Digital Twins

Last week we were pleased to host a new Robotekin Topaketa at Virtualware, one of the monthly meetups organized by the association at its partners’ facilities to get to know each other better, share knowledge and create new collaboration opportunities.

After a brief introduction to Virtualware, Mikel Ayani, Product Owner of Simumatik, delivered the talk “Digital Twins as the Safety Layer for AI-driven Automation”, sparking an engaging debate on how Artificial Intelligence is transforming industrial automation.

As AI begins to play a role in control systems and robotics, these systems will become increasingly autonomous and less predictable. This raises an important question: how can we safely test and validate systems whose behavior is no longer fully defined in advance?

In this context, Digital Twins and simulation can play a key role as a safe environment to model, simulate, test and validate the behavior of these new systems before deploying them in the physical world.

The session wrapped up with demos, coffee and networking, but also with a shared reflection. Robotekin particularly highlighted the connection between this vision and the initiatives the group is driving around AI-based robotics.

A good example of what Topaketak is for: getting to know each other, sharing ideas, and discovering that we are working towards common challenges.
